As Editor-in-Chief, I am delighted to announce the launch of MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences, a new international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. As Editor-in-Chief, I am delighted to announce the launch of MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences, a new international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. In today's world, producing and sharing scientific knowledge is crucial for the future. Against this backdrop, MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences aims to share original, interdisciplinary research on marine and freshwater ecosystems with the international scientific community. It covers original research in the following areas: aquatic ecosystems; oceanography; marine biology; limnology; fisheries; aquaculture; hydrobiology; pollution; biotechnology; ecosystem dynamics; environmental monitoring; the effects of climate change on aquatic systems; coastal management; remote sensing and GIS in water sciences; exotic species; economic dimensions; and marine and freshwater resource management. With its peer-reviewed, open-access and ethical publishing principles, MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences aims to be a reliable reference source for scientists and practitioners. All of the topics mentioned in this brief list, as well as their sub-areas, fall within the scope of MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences. Our aim is to publish scientific results and contribute to the development of innovative ideas across different disciplines, as well as increasing international cooperation for the conservation of aquatic ecosystems. The journal will operate on a continuously publishing model and articles will be published promptly after acceptance. As part of the indexing process, articles will initially be grouped into six-monthly issues. The International Editorial Board plays an active role in contributing to the journal and will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing submissions within their areas of expertise. These areas fall within the scope of Marine & Freshwater Sciences, including marine biology, limnology, fisheries, aquaculture, hydrobiology, ecosystem dynamics, environmental monitoring, the effects of climate change on aquatic systems, exotic species, economic aspects, and water resources management. With the launch of this first issue, I would like to invite all researchers working in Marine & Freshwater Sciences to consider MARFRESH - Journal of Marine & Freshwater Sciences as a potential publication platform for their original study. We look forward to receiving your submissions.
